PROJECT CREATOR: What are the Guidelines for posting a project?

This guide is designed to help Project Creators understand our posting guidelines and streamline the process of getting your first project approved and live on our platform. Following these standards ensures your project reaches talent quickly while maintaining the quality and professionalism our community expects.

Whether you are casting for a feature film, commercial, reality show, or digital content, these guidelines apply to all project types. Projects that meet our standards are typically approved faster, allowing you to start receiving submissions sooner.

Projects that follow all guidelines are typically approved within 24 hours. Incomplete or non-compliant projects may be delayed or returned for revisions.

To maintain platform integrity and protect our talent community, the following project types are not permitted:

• Fee-Charging Projects: Projects that charge talent fees, such as pageants or paid auditions.

• Class or Workshop Solicitation: Projects that solicit enrollment in classes, workshops, or training programs.

• Deceptive Prank Shows: Prank shows where talent is not informed or "in" on the prank.

• Regular Service Jobs: Standard employment postings such as bartending, sales, or retail positions.

• Sexualized Content Platforms: Streaming apps seeking user-generated sexualized content (e.g., Bigo, OnlyFans).

Brand ambassador campaigns and TikTok content projects are permitted and welcome on the platform.

Projects must accurately reflect their union affiliation. Here are the key requirements:

• Valid Options Only: A project is either union, non-union, or has no union affiliation. "Other" should never be used for union status.

  • ”Non Union” should primarily be used if your project is not registered with SAG AFTRA.

  • "No Union Affiliation" only applies to photo shoots, and some live events.

• Accurate Selection: Select the option that accurately describes your project. If there is a dispute, the union will be directed to contact you directly.

Clear and accurate compensation information is essential for talent to evaluate opportunities. Here is what you need to know about posting rates:

• No Rate Cap: There is no maximum monetary rate for projects. You may post any amount that fits your budget. However, some rates may require proof of funding

• Numerical Amounts Required: Paying roles must state a specific numerical monetary amount. Gift cards, travel reimbursement only, or gas reimbursement are not considered valid payment.

• Compensation Ranges: You may post a range only if the difference between the high and low end is within $300. For example, "$150-$350" is acceptable, but "$500-$1,000" is not.

Projects involving minors require special attention to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards:

• Content Restrictions: No sexual situations, nudity, drugs, smoking, or drinking for minor roles.

• Regional Compliance: Productions must follow all regional requirements for working with children.

• Age Range Separation: Minors and legal adults must be separated into different roles. Age ranges can span a maximum of 40 years (e.g., 18-50 is allowed; 13-75 is not). Anything beyond this requires a second role.

Minors are not allowed to create accounts and/or post projects. If the Project Creator is under 18 years of age, we require a parent or guardian to create an account and post on behalf of the minor.

Clear, respectful role descriptions help talent understand your needs while maintaining an inclusive casting environment:

• Character-Focused Descriptions: Role descriptions must describe the character, not the actor you are seeking. For example, use "This character is macho" rather than "Looking for talent who are macho."

• Race and Ethnicity: Roles cannot specify specific skin tones. You may select ethnic appearance in the role settings or provide photo references to suggest the desired look.

• Real People Casting: Projects may state "Real People," but cannot say "No Actors."

Photo references help talent understand the look and feel of your project. Please ensure all attachments meet these standards:

• No Nudity or Lingerie: Photo references must not contain nudity or lingerie.

• No Graphic Violence: Images depicting graphic violence are prohibited.

• No Contact Information: Photos must not display email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact information.

Projects involving nudity or sexual situations require additional specificity and care:

• Specific Descriptions Required: You must clearly specify what nudity will be involved and what the sexual situation entails. Graphic language is not permitted.

  • This does include partial nudity (i.e., topless nudity, backside nudity, silhouette, undergarments, lingerie, etc.). This will ensure talent are aware of what is expected of them, as well as ensure more appropriate submissions.

• Full Frontal Nudity: Projects requesting full frontal nudity require additional review by our Support Operations team.

Accurate location and proper contact formatting ensure talent can evaluate and respond to your project appropriately:

• Required Location Details: You must provide the city, state, or province where the work will take place.

• Remote Work: For UGC or work-from-home projects, list "Remote" or "Virtual" as the location.

• Outside Region Posting: You may post outside the shooting region only if travel and lodging are fully covered by production.

• Uncovered Travel: Without travel coverage, the release location must be the same as the working location or within a 3-hour driving distance.

• Restricted Areas: Email addresses and phone numbers are not allowed in the project body, sides, or attachments.

• Designated Section: Contact information is only permitted in the specific contact information section of the project.

• External Links: Links to examples (YouTube, TikTok) are acceptable. Links to external forms (Google Forms, Casting Crane) or other casting platforms are not allowed.

Professional, respectful language is required across all project postings:

• Inappropriate Language: No profanity, racial slurs, or religious slurs are allowed in any part of the posting.

• Translation Requirements: For projects in US territories, an English translation is required for the synopsis, role description, and additional information unless the project is filming and releasing solely outside of English-speaking countries.
