TALENT: What Is the Legal Language Field?

As a talent using Casting Networks, you may now see a Legal Language section on certain project pages. This is a new field that casting directors can use to include compliance-related text, legal requirements, or contractual language directly on the project.

If a casting director has added legal language to a project, you will see it displayed automatically when you view that project's details. If no legal language has been entered, you will see no change — the project will look exactly as it always has.

You may see legal language displayed on the following pages when viewing a project that includes it:

• Casting Billboard > Project Details page — when you click into a project to view its details

  

• Open Calls page — for projects that are surfaced as open calls and include legal language

Casting departments and studios sometimes need to communicate legal requirements, compliance disclosures, or contractual language as part of a casting project. This feature gives casting directors a standardized way to share that information with everyone who views the project — including you.

This ensures that all talent have access to the same legal and compliance information directly within the project record, so you can review any important disclosures before submitting or auditioning.

• Read it carefully. Legal language may contain important compliance requirements, contractual terms, or disclosures relevant to your participation in the project.

• Ask your representative if you have one. If you are represented by an agent or manager, they can help you understand any legal language and how it may affect you.

• Contact the casting director with questions. If anything is unclear, you or your representative can reach out to the casting director directly for clarification.

Will I see legal language on every project? No. The Legal Language field is entirely optional. Casting directors only use it when their project requires legal or compliance disclosures. Projects without legal language will look exactly as they always have.

Where will I see the legal language? You may see it on the Project Details page when viewing a project through the Casting Billboard, or on the Open Calls page for projects that include it.

What if the legal language is unclear or I have questions? Reach out to your representative (agent or manager) if you have one, or contact the casting director directly. They can clarify the legal language or provide additional documentation if needed.

Can I hide or remove the legal language? No. Legal language is set by the casting director and is part of the project record. It is there to ensure you have access to important compliance information.

Does this change how I submit to projects? No. The submission process remains the same. Legal language simply provides additional transparency about any compliance or contractual requirements associated with the project.
