This feature adds a layer of security to sensitive casting documents, such as sides and scripts, by stamping them with the viewer’s email address. Overview

To protect your sensitive casting documents, the watermarking feature stamps any sides, scripts, or other documents with the viewer's email address when they are downloaded or viewed. This ensures that your documents are traceable and helps to limit unauthorized sharing.

  • Each PDF page downloaded from the platform will be marked with the user’s email address.

  • This watermark is a light gray color and is displayed diagonally across every page of the document.

How Watermarking Works

When this feature is enabled on your account, all users must log in to their Casting Networks account to access any documents you've uploaded. Direct links to documents will no longer be shared via email. Instead, emails that include attachments, such as "New Role" notifications, will display the message: “Log in to view attachments.”

Who is affected by this feature?

  • Casting Directors (like you) who have the feature turned on and upload documents.

  • Talent and Talent Representatives who download or view these documents.

What happens if I disable watermarking?

If you choose to have watermarking disabled, any files you have will download without a watermark. Please note that enabling the feature will only apply to new files uploaded after the feature has been activated.

How to Enable Watermarking

To have the watermarking feature turned on for your organization, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact the support team to request this feature be enabled for your account.

  2. Be aware that once this feature is turned on, it will apply to all projects and documents you upload moving forward.

Once enabled, you will see the following message in the user interface when you upload documents: “Sides will be watermarked with the recipient’s email address.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What should I do if talent or their representatives can't access the watermarked sides?

Because the sides are secured, users must log into their Casting Networks account to view them. Please advise them to log in using the link they received in their notification. Our support team cannot provide the sides directly, as they are securely watermarked for the intended recipient.
