The asterisk on the Customize button indicates that the profile has been customized for the submission. If you see an asterisk on the Customize button, you may also notice that when you hover over the button, it will further clarify that the profile was customized for this submission. 

 Additional customizations can be made if necessary until casting has reviewed the submission.
